Itinerary
Day 01 :
Nairobi – Amboseli National Park
You will be picked up from Nairobi airport or your hotel and begin your journey to Amboseli National Park. The drive follows the Nairobi–Mombasa highway, passing through scenic Maasai land with expansive plains and traditional homesteads along the way. Amboseli lies at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, which often dominates the skyline as you approach the park.
Upon arrival, you will check in at your lodge or tented camp and enjoy lunch. After some time to relax, you will head out for an afternoon game drive in Amboseli National Park. The park is widely known for its rich wildlife, especially large elephant herds, as well as lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, and a wide variety of bird species.
Amboseli features five distinct wildlife habitats, including vast open plains, yellow-barked acacia woodlands, rocky lava-strewn thorn bush, freshwater swamps and marshes, and the dry lakebed of Lake Amboseli. To the west of the park rises the Ol Doinyo Orok massif, reaching over 2,760 meters and remaining largely unexplored, adding to the park’s rugged beauty and ecological diversity.
After the game drive, you will return to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 02 :
Full Day in Amboseli National Park
Start your day early to catch the breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, often called the “Roof of Africa.” After a hearty breakfast, embark on a full-day safari adventure exploring the diverse habitats of Amboseli National Park.
Amboseli is renowned for its abundant wildlife, including elephants, lions, cheetahs, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species, all set against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro’s towering presence. A picnic lunch will be served in the park, allowing you to relax while surrounded by nature.
For a cultural experience, you can visit a nearby Masai village, where warriors will welcome you with traditional dances, songs, and a guided tour of their homesteads. This is an excellent opportunity to take memorable photos and learn about the Maasai way of life.
Alternatively, you may choose to enjoy separate morning and evening game drives instead of a full-day safari, providing flexibility while still maximizing wildlife sightings. After a day of exploration and encounters with Amboseli’s unique landscapes and animals, return to your lodge or camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 03 :
Amboseli – Lake Manyara
After breakfast, enjoy an early morning game drive in Amboseli before beginning your journey to Arusha via the Namanga border, crossing from Kenya into Tanzania. At the border, complete immigration formalities before continuing the scenic drive, arriving in Arusha in time for lunch.
Following lunch, you will be transferred to Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its unique tree-climbing lions and rich birdlife. Upon arrival, embark on a game drive through the park’s diverse landscapes, including lush woodlands, floodplains, and the soda lake that attracts thousands of flamingos.
